Tai Chi for Arthritis (TCA)-12 lessons with Dr Lam - recommended by CDC (Scroll down to see the free first lesson)
In 1996, Dr Lam with a team of medical and tai chi experts created this safe and easy to learn program. Medical studies confirm Tai Chi for Arthritis relieves pain, reduces falls and improves quality of life, that is why the Arthritis organisations around the world advocate this program and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (www.CDC.gov) recommends it for fall prevention.
What is special about this DVD is that you will feel as though you are participating in Dr Lam’s class. After a brief introduction of what Tai Chi for Arthritis is and how this DVD can benefit you, Dr Lam will teach you with step-by-step instructions, lead you to practice and explain the reason behind every move. At the conclusion of the DVD Dr Lam will demonstrate the set from both front and back views. The unique music was composed with the rhythm and energy especially for this program!
It presents the entire program including warm up and cool down in a user friendly format. Dr Lam incorporates the tai chi principles to enhance your understanding and enjoyment.

I purchased this to prepare for the instructor workshop. I had been taking classes and wanted to be available to help when the instructor had to be gone. Very easy to follow. Dr. Lam explains everything so clearly and demonstrates the moves so that he can be easily followed. The more time I spend with this DVD, the more I want to expand my Tai Chi knowledge.

Easy to understand and follow. Makes me feel good and my husband likes it too, and he's never done a home exercise program before. Yoga seems difficult for me lately, and not safe in many poses for osteoporosis. Tai Chi seems very safe. I like being able to play the DVD whenever the timing suits me, versus a zoom format at specific times.

Dr. Lam does an excellent job of explaining the movements and demonstrates them enough to help you achieve them yourself.

It is rare and unique to find a Sifu/teacher who is also a Medical Doctor. I have studied and practiced other martial arts. I was young and flexible. As I grew older wear and tear took its toll on my body because of the injuries I suffered as a result of my practice of martial arts.
I discovered Tai Chi. I started studying Yang style. My knees bothered me. Then I happen to view Dr. Lam's videos on YouTube. What he explained, taught and demonstrated compelled me to purchase his DVDs and inspire me to seriously become a certified instructor. I am 68 years old and I have desire to share what I have discovered with studying Dr. Paul Lam's teaching style, program and advice in living.

My doctor recommended Tai Chi to help my arthritis that has fused several of my vertebrae together. I tried Tai Chi at our local Senior Hall, but there was no teacher. I struggled to keep up and ended up in severe pain after attending three sessions. I found Dr. Lam’s video on YouTube and loved the instruction. I have been using the Tai Chi for Arthritis DVD daily for about three weeks now and am making progress without pain. The emphasis on doing only what you are able to encourages me to keep going. Instruction is easy to understand and motivational.

I am taking a beginner class of Tai Chi for Arthritis through our local Rec Center. I wanted the DVD to be able to better practice on my own and it works great!
Dr Lam makes it easy to understand the forms and through repetition, even a beginner can pick it up!

I've been practicing Tai-Chi in the Yang style for ~4 years now. I wanted to branch out and see what the other styles were like, and I saw someone demonstrate Sun style and immediately knew it was my next method of exploring Tai-Chi.
I do not have arthritis or have movement problems. I'm 31. From my perspective the Sun style has a few upgrades to its form that the Yang style does not - the focus on performing the movements on both sides of the body, and the integrated Chi-Gong breaths with the opening and closing hands are pretty awesome for cultivating a sensitivity to one's Chi and maintaining a truly balanced program. This would be an awesome introduction to Tai-Chi and energetic concepts in general, not only for those living with arthritis or other joint pain.
Dr. Lam is a chill guy that embodies the slow openness of Tai-Chi and makes it all very approachable. I will be including some of his wisdom in my own teaching methodology.
