Tai Chi for Arthritis (TCA)-12 lessons with Dr Lam - recommended by CDC (Scroll down to see the free first lesson)

In 1996, Dr Lam with a team of medical and tai chi experts created this safe and easy to learn program. Medical studies confirm Tai Chi for Arthritis relieves pain, reduces falls and improves quality of life, that is why the Arthritis organisations around the world advocate this program and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (www.CDC.gov) recommends it for fall prevention.

What is special about this DVD is that you will feel as though you are participating in Dr Lam’s class. After a brief introduction of what Tai Chi for Arthritis is and how this DVD can benefit you, Dr Lam will teach you with step-by-step instructions, lead you to practice and explain the reason behind every move. At the conclusion of the DVD Dr Lam will demonstrate the set from both front and back views. The unique music was composed with the rhythm and energy especially for this program!

It presents the entire program including warm up and cool down in a user friendly format. Dr Lam incorporates the tai chi principles to enhance your understanding and enjoyment.

    Yes! Do the Program!!

Posted by Kate McCollough on 14th Jul 2023

I was experiencing increasing knee pain and unsteadiness and was diagnosed with severe tricompartmental osteoarthritis of both knees. I was blessed to find Dr. Lam’s Tai Chi for Arthritis program and can give a strong recommendation to anyone who is hesitating: Yes! Do the program!! Dr. Lam presents the forms very slowly and very thoroughly, and radiates kindness, calmness, patience, and encouragement. Each lesson includes a warm-up, a run-through of the previous lessons, learning a new form, a cool-down, and a message from Dr. Lam to guide the week’s practice. Over the source of only six weeks, my pain and balance have both begun to improve. An unexpected benefit was that it also helped me to be grounded and centered when my mother suffered a sudden week-long illness resulting in her death. In moments of high stress, I found myself seeking a private place to run through the few forms I had learned to quiet my mind, and ground and center myself. Daily practice continues to strengthen my mind, body, and spirit to manage my stress and grief following her death. Thanks to this program, I am now certain that I will be a lifelong learner and practitioner of Tai Chi. I look forward to practicing and feeling my daily improvements. I cannot recommend this program highly enough!

    Study Enhancement

Posted by Dennis Sims on 11th Jul 2023

I have been training in Tai Chi for a little over two years now, and since I have added Dr. Lams program to my studies, they have really enhanced my personal studies away from class.

I had to replace my TCA DVD, as I gave my copy to a senior group to follow. Dr Lam’s instructional videos are brilliant!

Superb Learning DVD for my Beginner class

Posted by Valerie Levy on 23rd Oct 2022

I find this DVD very instructive. I have been a certified Instructor with the Tai Chi for Health Institute for going on seven years. I encourage my beginner students to purchase this DVD so they can watch and practice at home. Since my beginner classes are on Wednesday and Friday mornings, when they leave my class on Friday, it is five days before they are back in class. I have found that even if my students don't perform the form with the DVD, watching the demonstration and listening to Dr Lam helps tremendously. I highly recommend this DVD to anyone who wants to learn the 12 forms.

    Great for Beginners

Posted by T. Cleary on 26th Apr 2022

[Tai Chi for Arthritis] Dr. Lam's presentation is thorough and easy to understand. The forms are shown from back and front, and even sideways at times. I find these to be helpful even though I am taking a live course. Being able to see the forms from all angles allows me to correct my stance, movements, etc.

Excellent way to learn and improve

Posted by Debbie on 4th Apr 2022

I purchased this to prepare for the instructor workshop. I had been taking classes and wanted to be available to help when the instructor had to be gone. Very easy to follow. Dr. Lam explains everything so clearly and demonstrates the moves so that he can be easily followed. The more time I spend with this DVD, the more I want to expand my Tai Chi knowledge.

    excellent Tai Chi DVD

Posted by Harrel Lawrence on 22nd Mar 2022

Easy to understand and follow. Makes me feel good and my husband likes it too, and he's never done a home exercise program before. Yoga seems difficult for me lately, and not safe in many poses for osteoporosis. Tai Chi seems very safe. I like being able to play the DVD whenever the timing suits me, versus a zoom format at specific times.

An excellent DVD for starting Tai Chi

Posted by Robert Defiglia on 15th Feb 2022

Dr. Lam does an excellent job of explaining the movements and demonstrates them enough to help you achieve them yourself.
