  1. Seated Tai Chi for Arthritis - not for you? Think again. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Jul 2018

I thought that Seated Tai Chi for Arthritis was not for me, and, I was wrong. As I neared the date for my hip surgery I could no longer safely do the standing Tai Chi for Arthritis program that was helping to keep me moving. Reluctantly, I turned on the Seated Tai Chi DVD. Through using this DVD, not only was I able to increase flexibility but I was also able to build the strength that contributed to a successful recovery. This well organized and professional DVD kept me active and is a reminder that thoughtful modifications to a program like Tai Chi for Arthritis can open up opportunities for improved movement, flexibility and better balance to a larger community.
I have just purchased another copy of the DVD for a friend. Thank you Dr. Lam!

  2. Great DVD 4 Star Review

This is a great DVD, but the endorsement and introduction to why Tai Chi is good for people with arthritis and/or disabilities is a bit too long. The lessons themselves are excellent.

  3. Outstanding Seated Tai Chi Video 5 Star Review

Posted by on 21st Jul 2017

This amazing video is very detail oriented, even more so than the others. The time taken to explain in detail every nuance, especially the leg movements, was very beneficial in my teaching of Tai Chi for Arthritis. The care and precision that was taken to create and produce this video was beyond comparison. I have several of Dr. Lam's videos and although I enjoyed viewing them and learning from them, I think the Seated Tai Chi is my favorite. I know that several of my clients who are in wheel chairs and using walkers or have balance issues will enjoy and benefit from this video. Thank you for your care and concern in reaching so many people through your videos.

  4. Very helpful for teaching wheelchair bound participants 4 Star Review

I recently began teaching Tai Chi for Arthritis in a nursing facility and found that most participants needed to remain seated. The DVD for seated Tai Chi for Arthritis is helping me to teach more effectively. This is a great resource for me.

Good direction to help you understand the Tai Chi movements

  6. A Nice Alternative 5 Star Review

Posted by on 31st Dec 2016

I ordered this DVD to experience the difference in seated and standing Tai Chi. When I'm doing Tai Chi with a group this will be especially helpful to guide those with a balance issue as a safe alternative to standing. Excellent.

  7. Seated Tai Chi for Arthritis 3 Star Review

I found that the approach used is not as helpful as the approach used in the Tai Chi for Arthritis video. I think it is easier to follow when Dr. Lam faces the camera to show the hand movements first and then he turns his back to the camera so that it is easier to follow the movements.

So thankful for this DVD. Meet with older folks once a month at this point to encourage socialization and optimal health. This video is helping me learn to think out of the box and to assist my elderly friends with their balance short comings. So greatful, thank you.

  9. Easy seated Tai Chi 5 Star Review

This is an excellent DVD for people who do not yet have the balance to practice standing Tai Chi.

  10. Seated Tai Chi is excellent for disabled students of Tai Chi for Arthritis 4 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Oct 2016

I have had several students whon wished to learn Tai Chi but didn't have the physical capability to do it while standing. I introduced them to the seated Tai Chi dvd and received unanimous raves for its helpfulness. One student in particular had brain damage which made it difficult to process instructions. He had an assistant to help him and she used the disc to practice with him. Both he and his assistant stated with enthusiasm that the instrucrions worked fine for them. Another student had difficulty with her back and learned TCA at home. She then participated in class with comfort and a real sense of accomplishment. Three cheers for seated Tai Chi.
