Tai Chi for Arthritis (TCA)-12 lessons with Dr Lam - recommended by CDC (Scroll down to see the free first lesson)

In 1996, Dr Lam with a team of medical and tai chi experts created this safe and easy to learn program. Medical studies confirm Tai Chi for Arthritis relieves pain, reduces falls and improves quality of life, that is why the Arthritis organisations around the world advocate this program and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (www.CDC.gov) recommends it for fall prevention.

What is special about this DVD is that you will feel as though you are participating in Dr Lam’s class. After a brief introduction of what Tai Chi for Arthritis is and how this DVD can benefit you, Dr Lam will teach you with step-by-step instructions, lead you to practice and explain the reason behind every move. At the conclusion of the DVD Dr Lam will demonstrate the set from both front and back views. The unique music was composed with the rhythm and energy especially for this program!

It presents the entire program including warm up and cool down in a user friendly format. Dr Lam incorporates the tai chi principles to enhance your understanding and enjoyment.

Tai Chi for Functional Movement Disoder

Posted by Unknown on 6th Sep 2016

I have a functional movement disorder and have been using Dr. Lam's Tai Chi for Arthiritis for a few weeks. The lessons are very easy to follow and have helped me a lot physically. Due to the way the movements are structured, I am able to do the actions without aggravating my condition. By the end of the lesson, I am more in control of my body and have smoother flows through my nervous system. During the last weeks my motions have become more smooth and more controlled. I know I can improve more, but this is a good start. Dr. Lam is very good at explaining the motions and the video production is masterfully done. I love this product.

    Exemplary Instruction

Posted by Camilla Thomason on 30th Aug 2016

Having made five earnest attempts to learn Tai Chi by taking classes, I had become discouraged because I never succeeded. At the encouragement of my current teacher, I purchased this DVD of Dr. Lam's. Finally, I am learning from Dr. Lam's method of instruction. My success is largely due to the slower pace he sets for his students and his practice of teaching arm and foot movements/sequences separately first for the more challenging segments. One other factor that has been helping me is the repetition of lessons linked together as they are learned. There is always the flow from one movement into the next one. I highly recommend Dr. Lam's methods. I am committed now to frequent home practice because I can view Dr. Lam's DVDs for review and to learn new movements.

It's the only exercise that doesn't hurt, and I feel better afterward.

Posted by Julia M. on 4th Aug 2016

It has been said by other very good exercise experts that, with pain involved, the exercise has to be slow enough to allow blood circulation to flow, because pain constricts circulation. Otherwise there will be no healing without circulation. And the only exercise that goes slow enough to allow blood flow is Tai Chi for Arthritis. Yay! My physical therapist was thrilled when he heard that I bought the DVD! Also, Dr. Lam's soothing voice is a big part of the experience. Just when I think I can't slow down enough, I hear his voice and change my mind. In short (too late), this is an excellent program. Very helpful.

This an excellent take to use in addition to a regular class. It allowed me to progress much faster than just classroom instruction once a week. It is very well done and helpful.

    Excellent Self-Taught

Posted by Kathy on 28th Jun 2016

I had taken a course of Tai Chi for Arthritis and found it very helpful. Great for balance. I was a bit skeptic if I would be able to learn on my own from a DVD. The forms are so well explained and demonstrated that I really can learn on my own. This DVD is a great filler between classes. Thank you, Dr. Lam
