Tai Chi for Arthritis (TCA)-12 lessons with Dr Lam - recommended by CDC (Scroll down to see the free first lesson)

In 1996, Dr Lam with a team of medical and tai chi experts created this safe and easy to learn program. Medical studies confirm Tai Chi for Arthritis relieves pain, reduces falls and improves quality of life, that is why the Arthritis organisations around the world advocate this program and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (www.CDC.gov) recommends it for fall prevention.

What is special about this DVD is that you will feel as though you are participating in Dr Lam’s class. After a brief introduction of what Tai Chi for Arthritis is and how this DVD can benefit you, Dr Lam will teach you with step-by-step instructions, lead you to practice and explain the reason behind every move. At the conclusion of the DVD Dr Lam will demonstrate the set from both front and back views. The unique music was composed with the rhythm and energy especially for this program!

It presents the entire program including warm up and cool down in a user friendly format. Dr Lam incorporates the tai chi principles to enhance your understanding and enjoyment.

Very easy on this old body!

Posted by Terry L. on 10th Mar 2017

I love the very easy moves and the overall workout. I am a senior with body injuries, arthritis, and multiple physical ailments. I stopped working out, lifting weights etc because of this. Now I have something to keep me moving in a less harmful way. I have only two wishes. 1.closed captioning as I am deaf. I skip pass the introduction because I cannot hear. 2. The exercises were all together. Meaning, so I don't have to stop and fast forward to the next set, 1-12 were all together. Otherwise, I am happy with my purchase. Highly recommend. Thank you!

    Tai Chi for Arthritis

Posted by Carol Willis-Holden on 28th Feb 2017

I love this exercise and so do all my classes! There are so many wonderful results that occur when doing this particular form: you can feel the chi being activiated, there's an incredible sense of relaxation and well-being, and it really makes your brain work! Undboutedly, I'll be purchasing more of Dr. Lam's dvds to share his methods with my classes!

The best way to learn Tai Chi

Posted by Camille Torgeson on 15th Feb 2017

The Tai Chi for Arthritis DVD's are clear and easy to follow for those who need to hear the instructions and well as see the movements from all angles. Learning Tai Chi can be a challenge but this makes it easy for most anyone to pick up the ideas expressed by Dr. Lam. I love using this program with my students who are older, many with arthritis, many with other disease complications. They all take a lot away when using this program.

    great for Balance recovery post-stroke

Posted by Sara H on 19th Jan 2017

Easy to follow and gentle. Best way I've found to help improve my balance and maintain it to live life at a higher level after having emergency neurosurgery for a brain hemorage. Easy and gentle when my other old exercise routines are still to rough for me. Gentle but is clearly improving my strength and especially improving my balance over the month. Seems too easy to yield such good results. Marvelous!

    learning from a Master

Posted by susan Glick on 6th Jan 2017

This is an excellent DVD and I will use it in my upcoming classes. What a joy to see a master using the teaching techniques he has described in Teaching Tai Chi Effectively, a gift for many years to come.

    GRATEFUL

Posted by Kathleen on 5th Jan 2017

Grateful is the best description I can give for this program. Having over the past year lost a good deal of my mobility and range of motion due to arthritis I was seeking a routine that I would be able to do, realizing the least active I was the worse I was going to get. Dr Lam is very clear in his instruction both verbally and by demonstration. His reassurance that Tai Chi is not to be accomplished quickly but is best when time is taken gives me the confidence to continue. He also is very encouraging to go at what you, the individual, are able to do. After I complete a lesson I feel that I have actually acomplished something, rather than beating myself up for not being able to "do it like a master". This program has helped significantly with my balance, coordination, range of motion, decrease in pain and ability to just slow my life down and enjoy it! I would highly recommend this program to anyone looking for a way to improve thier life. THANK YOU DR PAUL LAM!!!

    Clear and easy to follow

Posted by Catherine Kostyn on 30th Dec 2016

I usually avoid instructional DVDs as they are often difficult to follow and audio problems are common. I've been wanting to learn Tai Chi for a long time, but there aren't really any class options in my area and with my osteoarthritis forcing me to set aside my high intensity exercises, I stumbled across Dr Lam's DVDs and decided to give them a try. I find the instruction clear and precise. I really like how he shows each movement bit by bit, and the more challenging movements are show from the side as well as both front and back. His Beginner DVDs are meant for a true beginner audience, no assumptions are made of a prior foundation and that has been the perfect approach. I'm still working my way through the Arthritis DVDs and can already tell that my movements are becoming smoother - both when I practice and outside.
