Tai Chi for Arthritis (TCA)-12 lessons with Dr Lam - recommended by CDC (Scroll down to see the free first lesson)

In 1996, Dr Lam with a team of medical and tai chi experts created this safe and easy to learn program. Medical studies confirm Tai Chi for Arthritis relieves pain, reduces falls and improves quality of life, that is why the Arthritis organisations around the world advocate this program and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (www.CDC.gov) recommends it for fall prevention.

What is special about this DVD is that you will feel as though you are participating in Dr Lam’s class. After a brief introduction of what Tai Chi for Arthritis is and how this DVD can benefit you, Dr Lam will teach you with step-by-step instructions, lead you to practice and explain the reason behind every move. At the conclusion of the DVD Dr Lam will demonstrate the set from both front and back views. The unique music was composed with the rhythm and energy especially for this program!

It presents the entire program including warm up and cool down in a user friendly format. Dr Lam incorporates the tai chi principles to enhance your understanding and enjoyment.

I order the DVD for my students. I encourage them to watch the DVD at home, so when they are in class, they will have a better understanding of the form. I love it.

Wonderful tool to enhance practice between classes!

Posted by Dennis Fallo on 9th Nov 2023

A great program for beginners and I have recommended this to many of my students to use between classes. I have recently donated this dvd and the music cd for a blind auction. The organization assists folks with illness and some terminally ill. Many have wanted to experience Tai Chi benefits. I have also donated my time and free lessons.

Best Way to Practice and Learn

Posted by Janet Shelley on 2nd Aug 2023

I have been taking a Tai Chi for Beginners class at my local senior center and I love it. After working on Tai Chi for Rehabilitation for several weeks, our instructor began teaching us Tai Chi for Arthritis. She had mentioned the DVDs several times, so I purchased three, including this one, in order to improve my practice at home. I am so happy I did! I love the way Dr. Lam breaks the program down into individual movements. Repetition is really the best way to learn because our muscle memory kicks in after a while. In his message at the end of Lesson 1, Dr. Lam says to practice the lesson for a week before starting Lesson 2. Follow his advice. Take time to learn each movement and breathe! You will begin to feel stronger, calmer, and more balanced with each lesson.

Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention Part 1

Posted by Tonya G on 26th Jul 2023

Video is easy to follow with clear visual instructions. Its instructions are given in small increments for learning. First you are shown the steps three times then follow me steps three times and then you show what you have learned or just needed repeats part of the instructions.

    Yes! Do the Program!!

Posted by Kate McCollough on 14th Jul 2023

I was experiencing increasing knee pain and unsteadiness and was diagnosed with severe tricompartmental osteoarthritis of both knees. I was blessed to find Dr. Lam’s Tai Chi for Arthritis program and can give a strong recommendation to anyone who is hesitating: Yes! Do the program!! Dr. Lam presents the forms very slowly and very thoroughly, and radiates kindness, calmness, patience, and encouragement. Each lesson includes a warm-up, a run-through of the previous lessons, learning a new form, a cool-down, and a message from Dr. Lam to guide the week’s practice. Over the source of only six weeks, my pain and balance have both begun to improve. An unexpected benefit was that it also helped me to be grounded and centered when my mother suffered a sudden week-long illness resulting in her death. In moments of high stress, I found myself seeking a private place to run through the few forms I had learned to quiet my mind, and ground and center myself. Daily practice continues to strengthen my mind, body, and spirit to manage my stress and grief following her death. Thanks to this program, I am now certain that I will be a lifelong learner and practitioner of Tai Chi. I look forward to practicing and feeling my daily improvements. I cannot recommend this program highly enough!

    Study Enhancement

Posted by Dennis Sims on 11th Jul 2023

I have been training in Tai Chi for a little over two years now, and since I have added Dr. Lams program to my studies, they have really enhanced my personal studies away from class.
