Tai Chi - The 24 Forms

The ancient practice of tai chi is clinically proven to be one of the most effective exercises to improve health, fitness and relaxation. The 24 Forms is the most widely practiced tai chi form. While there are many variations, the form you will learn by working with this DVD is the one of the most authentic.

Following an introduction to tai chi and its benefits, Dr Lam teaches unique qigong exercises and foundational movements which will enhance your energy and make easier learning. He teaches the 24 forms from different angles — using close ups, repetitions and diagramed illustrations while dividing each form into small sections allowing you to follow along with ease. Throughout the lessons, Dr Lam will explain the tai chi principles and how to use them to improve your tai chi.

Dr Paul Lam, an Australian family physician and tai chi expert, is a world leader in the field of tai chi for health. He is a well recognised teacher and has trained over five thousand instructors. A Step To A Larger World

Posted by Andrew McNair on 26th Jan 2018

I understand this is the teaching of the International Style practiced by millions around the world. I am just starting to learn this style and am excited at the prospect of joining a larger community. The instruction so far (basic steps) are thorough and complete. Dr. Lam's joy at presenting is apparent with his gifted training style. I look forward to mastering the complete set. It's fun and beautiful!

    A Personal Journey

Posted by Lauri Mannikko on 24th Jan 2018

Hello, I began with the beginners set a year ago, early 2017, and practiced, practiced, and practiced again while always going back to the lessons for more instruction. This year, I felt I was ready to learn the 24 forms offered on DVD because I knew there was more to learn and gain in physical wellness. By that I mean I benefit having more flexibility by learning Tai Chi at 69 years of age, something I have lost gradually over the decades. Thank you for your patience to teach in a manner that is easy to understand.

    Great Reference

After studying 24 form for a year with my instructor, then attending the in depth work shop with Dr Lam in Bend, Or, I still refer to this CD to assist me in gaining a deeper depth and refinement of the forms.

One of the best instructional for health Tai Chi DVD, and should be placed in a time capsule, so future generations could learn the authentic 24 form Yang style Tia Chi. The step-by-step instruction makes it easy to learn at your own pace. Dr Paul Lam also performs a demonstration of the 24 form Yang style in fluid and mesmerizing movements, like poetry in motion. So happy to have purchase this DVD.

How To Learn Modified Yang Style Tai Chi in easy steps

Posted by Lois Bascom on 31st Aug 2017

I am practicing with Dr. Lam on this CD and find it most helpful in my personal development on Tai Chi. I appreciate the step wise teaching method; the ability to learn one piece of the form at a time; the ability to return many times to the same lesson. I appreciate the way this CD is presented. It is presented in a professional way. Having Dr. Lam turn his back and others facing front is most helpful. Thank you, Dr. Lam for another stellar teaching Tai Chi CD.

    Another great DVD

Posted by Patrick Mullally on 18th Jul 2017

This is the third DVD I have purchased since starting Tai Chi for Health. I only started using the 24 forms DVD and have been pleased with how I am progressing so far getting Dr. Lam's instruction through video. It was also helpful to have the Qi Gong movements broken down as I have been using this movement with the Tai Chi for Arthritis and Energy DVDs. Great DVD and recommend it to anyone just starting out or wish to add another form to their exercise routine.

    Review of The 24 Forms

Posted by Valerie Levy on 4th Jul 2017

I thought Dr. Lam's teaching methods are nothing less than superb. I was able to follow his instructions very easily and loved that he demostrates facing the student and then turns around so we can see it from his back. I also love the fact that he brings in other instructors so we can see their methods as well. I am a novice certified instructor and am using Dr. Lam's progressive step method for my teaching. It is an excellent way to teach and I find that my students are progressing quite well. I also tell my students that I am also still a student of Dr. Lam and will be learning and studying Tai Chi for the rest of my life. My main goal is to teach Dr. Lam's method so my students can learn TCA safely. I thoroughly enjoyed the DVD and I feel that it was filmed beautifully, as if Dr. Lam were in my living room.

    Feel 20 years younger!

Posted by Kay Wallace on 29th Jun 2017

This has been the best exercise. I am 60 and have arthritis in hips and knees. My legs are so much stronger and everyday tasks are much easier. Love the calming results as well. Excellent therapy to remove stress. Really love practicing the moves. Dr. Lam is an excellent teacher. Videos are very easy to follow. I practice everyday and can't wait to do it. Always dreaded most other forms of exercise I made myself do. I sleep more soundly and have a great feeling of well being overall. I recommend this to everyone!
