Tai Chi - The 24 Forms

The ancient practice of tai chi is clinically proven to be one of the most effective exercises to improve health, fitness and relaxation. The 24 Forms is the most widely practiced tai chi form. While there are many variations, the form you will learn by working with this DVD is the one of the most authentic.

Following an introduction to tai chi and its benefits, Dr Lam teaches unique qigong exercises and foundational movements which will enhance your energy and make easier learning. He teaches the 24 forms from different angles — using close ups, repetitions and diagramed illustrations while dividing each form into small sections allowing you to follow along with ease. Throughout the lessons, Dr Lam will explain the tai chi principles and how to use them to improve your tai chi.

Dr Paul Lam, an Australian family physician and tai chi expert, is a world leader in the field of tai chi for health. He is a well recognised teacher and has trained over five thousand instructors. He is the author of Teaching Tai Chi Effectively and Tai Chi for Beginners and the 24 Forms, as well as best-selling instructional tai chi DVDs. Dr Lam makes learning easy

Posted by Monica Boha on 8th Apr 2021

I have not yet received the product but I see that I can stream it through your website, something I didn't know. I will do that until my DVD's arrive. The place I do my practice has access to a TV with a DVD but there is no computer there so I am glad DVD's are available. I guess I use the living room until they arrive. I look forward to the classes. I really liked the first one I purchased on Tai Chi for Arthritis. I had tried a DVD once before but the presenter went through it so fast I couldn't not keep up. Dr. Lam is excellent in how he presents the moves. Thank you.

Return to Tai Chi After the Pandemic Break

Posted by Barbara Dunn on 15th Jan 2021

I have Dr. Lam's Tai Chi for Arthritis (12 lessons).because I attended a class for two years. I bought the 24 Forms video to see if I wanted to pick up again after our class ended in March 2020.The 24 Forms had me thinking it might be a continuation of the first 12 covered in my classes. We were doing "Sun" style. I have been looking at the tai chi fundamentals and trying to see if I can learn from the video. I haven't reviewed the forms yet so as not to scare myself with too much information. I hope I can stick with it.

    Excellent 24 Forms DVD

Posted by Unknown on 27th Nov 2020

We purchased the Tai Chi for Beginners and 24 Forms Bundle and the Tai Chi for Beginners and the 24 Forms Book at the end of September 2020. We have been following the 24 Form DVD. Dr. Lam is a very good teacher. He breaks each movement down into small steps and has you repeat each movement several times so you can eventually get the hang of it. As an added plus, he is very funny! In the Repulse Monkey lesson he says "I bet you can't wait to put the feet and hands together" with a smile. We highly recommend Dr. Lam to learn Tai Chi from!

Thrilled to be back to healthy Tai Chi

Posted by Posted on 11/2020 by Sheila on 10th Nov 2020

I am thrilled with my new The 24 forms. It is so well done and love how I can go over and over until I get how to do each form. When I lived in Alaska I was introduced to Dr. Lam's Tai Chi for arthritis and I was able to attend classes 2 times a week. When we retired and moved to the Northwest, I was disappointed there was no Tai Chi. Last year a man wanted to teach Tai Chi and I was thrilled to get back to it. It is not for arthritis but it is the Yang style. I can do this twice a week and with your DVD I should be back in a few months to enjoying Tai Chi! Thank you Dr. Lam for you making this possible!!

The 24 Forms Video is Excellent

Posted by Ann on 6th Aug 2020

Thank you for a well done video that is easy to follow. Dr. Lam is peaceful and calming throughout the video. I especially like the views with Dr. Lam's back along with the class facing front and that he breaks the movements into sections ending each section with a practice of the entire section's movements. Watching Dr. Lam performing the 24 forms at the end is watching meditation in motion.

    Great way to learn

Posted by Gerard Havasy on 9th Apr 2020

I first learned Tai Chi in 2003 from Dr. Lam‘s basic tai chi video. I then joined a class at my senior center and have subsequently become the leader in the group. This Tai Chi 24 is the best And easiest way to learn Thai Chi 24.
