TAI CHI Sun Style 73 Forms
Free first lesson
Combining two of the most powerful internal arts with tai chi, Sun Lu-tang (1861-1932) created an uniquely powerful style of tai chi. This style places great emphasis on Qigong (exercise to cultivate vital life energy), making it especially effective for cultivating internal energy, which in turn greatly enhance healing and relaxation. The 73 Forms is characterized by agile steps with smooth and flowing movements, like water in a river.
Following an introduction to tai chi and of the benefits you will gain by learning the 73 Forms, Dr Lam will teach warm up exercises and the 73 Forms using simple and proven teaching methods. He will teach the forms from different angles — using close ups, repetitions and diagrammed illustrations while dividing each form into small sections allowing you to follow along with ease. Throughout the lessons, Dr Lam will explain the tai chi principles and the unique Sun style tai chi energy with throughout the DVD.
Features:
• Step-by-step comprehensive instructions
• Close-ups, repetitions, different angles and foot prints to facilitate learning
• Specially composed theme music
• Demonstrations (front and back on views) of the entire set by Dr Lam

Review
It is a very good teaching DVD to have at home. He reviews the moves quite extensive to help learn them. The one suggestion I would make would be to be able to go from one set to the next without having to stop and go through the lessons in consequence. And if you could just pick which lesson you wanted a little easier. Over all it is a good DVD.

Sun 73 - really long form
Typical Dr Lam instructional video. Unexpected were the differences in the postures in this Sun Family form and the Tai Chi for Arthritis postures -- same names, small differences. The Lam full form demo portions have small differences in foot and hand details from the step by step teaching portions. Not a big deal and it will take me a while to master all 73 postures.

Essential for my learning 73
I love 73. It is challenging. And I don’t know how I could really confidently learn 73 without the DVD. Dr Lam is a great teacher. He breaks it down. Everything is included. I like being able to stop-start-rewind to tease out the details. Highly recommend.

Follow-able Form
Living in a remote area I was looking for a video I could actually learn the form from. Of course a teacher is ideal but I don't have one at this time. Other's videos I've tried just weren't carefully enough thought out and produced to make the moves clear enough to follow. This one works much better. Dr. Lam is very concise. The only thing I don't like is the intrusion of the Aussie gentleman loudly prompting me to "follow Dr' Lam" This is entirely unnecessary and an unwanted distraction. Otherwise very well done. Thank you!

Very thorough instruction in Sun73 form!
This DVD has video segments showing each movement in detail, and then as movements are repeated later in the form combines movements already performed into the same segment with new movements. This is great because you aren't wasting time with in-depth instruction on a movement you've already learned. I also love that Dr. Lam features his preferred style of the Sun73 movements, but for difficult movements also shows a simpler style you can do as you gain flexibility and balance. For other movements he will also show alternate versions that are higher difficulty and risk, in case you have come across these versions from other instructors or watching competition forms on YouTube, and then explain why he prefers his version. Overall I have very much enjoyed learning with this DVD!

Sun Style 73 forms
I love, love this DVD! It contains many forms which are quite challenging. I look forward to practicing it almost everyday. I still have a lot to learn but more importantly, the 73 forms help me focus so I am able to execute the present form and prepare for the next. I also feel my inner stabilizers and memory have improved. Thank you, Dr. Lam!

the 73 form
The 73 DVD is good , it would be much better if there was a Handbook that gives you an outline of the complete 73 from.
