It is helpful to instructing people who are not able to stand in Tai Chi. It makes them feel like they’re being successful in their own way in learning how to do Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention.

I bought the dvd's on the recommendation of my physical therapist. They were starting an online tai chi class and my internet was jerky so I wanted a different way. I was told the dvd's were basically the same as the online classes they were offering. I love the dvd and really enjoy the work-outs. (and the best part is I can workout with the dvd every day.

I currently work in a senior community. This is the best group of forms and the seated postures are Purce the for safety and an easy entrance into the tradition of Tai Chi.

  6. 5 minutes to profound, deep, relaxed energy 5 Star Review

The Seated Tai Chi for Arthritis DVD is a soothing bath in tai chi principles. It is suitable for anyone who can sit safely in an upright chai and tolerate gentle arm movements. The amount of relaxation I receive upon performance of this set, and the functional carry over into my daily life are truly remarkable.
    Thank you Dr. Lam!!

  7. Very helpful DVD 5 Star Review

Posted by on 2nd May 2019

I am a new Tai Chi for Fall Prevention teacher. Most of my students are over 65yrs, and offering Seated Tai Chi is proving very helpful to them. I have watched the DVD several times, and watch each form just before I offer it to the class, so what I am teaching is clear in my mind. Any other teaching material on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

  8. Seated Tai Chi for Arthritis :not just for those who cannot stand 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th Aug 2018

Wow!!!I ordered this DVD because I thought I would try it some day( and because it was on sale!) Last week, I sprained my left foot and that day arrived sooner than I thought. I was delighted that this DVD exceeded my expectations! Learning to do the seated warm-ups with the Tennessee lady-teacher who had been teaching seated tai chi for 15 years was enriching to my tai chi experience. (Plus, i liked it that she was from Tennessee and I am in a state next door...North Carolina. After doing seated tai chi twice, I introduced it to my class and every single participant gave "Seated Tai Chi for Arthritis" a very good comment at the end of my class the other day and surprisingly many stated they felt they're muscles worked harder!!! Finally, I also thoroughly enjoyed hearing Dr. Lam speak on the benefits of seated tai chi and how he uses it in his life. My only disappointment with the DVD is that the advanced forms are not on it!

  9. Seated Tai Chi for Arthritis - not for you? Think again. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Jul 2018

I thought that Seated Tai Chi for Arthritis was not for me, and, I was wrong. As I neared the date for my hip surgery I could no longer safely do the standing Tai Chi for Arthritis program that was helping to keep me moving. Reluctantly, I turned on the Seated Tai Chi DVD. Through using this DVD, not only was I able to increase flexibility but I was also able to build the strength that contributed to a successful recovery. This well organized and professional DVD kept me active and is a reminder that thoughtful modifications to a program like Tai Chi for Arthritis can open up opportunities for improved movement, flexibility and better balance to a larger community.
I have just purchased another copy of the DVD for a friend. Thank you Dr. Lam!

  10. Great DVD 4 Star Review

This is a great DVD, but the endorsement and introduction to why Tai Chi is good for people with arthritis and/or disabilities is a bit too long. The lessons themselves are excellent.
