Tai Chi for Energy - 8 Lessons with Dr Paul Lam

Duration: 5 Hours.

8 Virtual Lessons with Dr Paul Lam

We invite you to explore this unique program within the comfort of your home; Dr Lam will guide you, step-by-step, through each movement of Tai Chi for Energy. He will teach you the forms from different angles — with close ups, repetitions and diagrammed illustrations — while dividing each form into small sections so you can follow along with ease. Throughout the lessons, Dr Lam will explain the tai chi principles and how to use them to improve your tai chi.

At the end of the DVD, Dr Lam demonstrates the entire set with both front- and back-on views.

A New Revitalizing Tai Chi Program

This program is comprised of two different tai chi styles. Chen style is vigorous and complex, combining fast and slow movements with powerful spiral force. Sun style incorporates unique qigong (life energy) movements with agile stepping. These two seemingly contrasting styles have complementary internal energy.
Using his deep understanding of tai chi principles and over 30 years of teaching experience, Dr. Lam has carefully combined movements from Chen and Sun styles to produce a powerful synergy in Tai Chi for Energy. Thus, with regular practice and in a relatively short period of time, this program will help you acquire better health and wellness, internal energy, and ability to manage stress.

    Excellent!

Posted by Josie on 24th Jan 2024

This is the second DVD I've purchased. The first was Tai Chi for Rehabilitation. The instruction is excellent, very detailed, and broken down into very manageable steps. It will take each person varying amounts of time to learn of course but Dr. Lam repeats things a lot to help you get the moves. You can sense his kind nature and genuine concern for everyone's well being. The music is really beautiful too.

Excellent instruction. Enjoyed the little tunes. The feet diagrams are helpful.

    Tai Chi for Energy

This set is fun to learn and do. I like the challenge of the fast and slow movements. In the short period of time I have been learning this set, I have noticed a huge improvement in my posture, balance, coordination, and flexibility.

Excellent pace and organization, nice "extras"

Like having a personal teacher at home! The lessons are organized with repetition of individual moves and cumulative review of previous moves, making learning very smooth and natural. Although I have a (certified!) instructor, the video allows me to review nuances that I may have missed or forgotten between lessons. The warmup and cool down exercises are also useful and fun.

Best Tai Chi DVD I've found!

Posted by Unknown on 7th May 2018

Dr. Lam does each movement from various views, making it quite easy to follow. He is very thorough and detailed in his teaching. I like that he teaches a couple styles within the routine and explains what he is doing and how is going to do it. The slowness and fluidity is spot-on.

    Challenging and Fun

Posted by MaryBeth on 5th Jan 2018

I am new to Tai Chi and have been enjoying learning the Tai Chi for Arthritis videos over the past year. I decided to try the Tai Chi for Energy next. I like the different pace and a couple of the moves have really challenged me. The format used in the video for learning makes Tai Chi fun for me. Thank you, Dr. Lam!

Great for both instructor and student!

Posted by Barbara Rezmer on 4th Nov 2017

As an instructor I consult this DVD often to review the individual lessons before teaching a class and to make sure I continue to do the form correctly. It is a powerful tool to have my students review the DVD between classes as it is hard to remember everything they have learned in class. Once the form is learned it is helpful to do the form now and then with Dr. Lam to keep us from getting sloppy in our form. The more I watch the DVD the more I learn patience from Dr. Lam. Thank you for this wonderful tool.

    I am very pleased

Posted by Wendy W Bryant, LMT, MMP on 7th Aug 2017

I feel like Dr. Lam is in my living room personally teaching me (I even have the same wood floor as in this DVD!). I like the way he patiently explains the movements and the opportunity to review the previous lesson(s) before moving on. I am very pleased with the warm up and cool down excercises as well. I am currently on Lesson 5 and I am thoroughly enjoying Tai Chi for Energy. I am a long time Licensed Massage Therapist and I plan to continue with Tai Chi and wish to eventually become an instructor. This way I can offer even more to my clients, many of whom live busy, stress-filled lives. Tai Chi for Energy, as well as the Dr. Lam's other Tai Chi forms, is a perfect way to learn a beautiful and age-old art form that helps one understand the importance of slowing down, proper breathing techniques, and using your body in a fluid and balanced way. One can definitely feel the good energy flowing after practicing the forms!
