Great teacher, too soft to hear well

Posted by Sheila Sawyer on 14th Jun 2019

I love the way Dr Lam teaches a beginner. He breaks the movement down and repeats it 3 times. He turns around so you can follow him from behind. I am enjoying the practice. I would award 5 stars for the lessons, but I wish I could hear better. Dr Lam is so soft spoken that even with my computer enhanced for loudest volume, I can't hear Dr Lam. Could it be the DVD? I've tried all the things I can for my computer.

    Want to Stops Falls

I am an Occupational Therapist and took a video course taught by Ralph Denner COTA. Published by PESI. Ralph Mentioned Dr. Lam in his course. The course was only able to teach some very basic moves. Dr. Lam's beginner course is a great course with easy to follow demonstrations. The content is clear. I really find the explanations helpful. Hoping Tai Chi will become very popular in Evansville, Indiana. This is a more comprehensive beginners course. Can not beat the price point either. Great value!! Looking forward to a slow steady progression using Dr. Lam's easy to follow courses.

Great for the beginner and as a refresher

I have been doing Tai Chi for several years and was bored with the tapes I had. After watching several of Dr. Lam's lessons online I knew this was a fantastic way to learn the fundamentals. Dr. Lam's teaching style is great and the book is also very helpful, as well as informative.

    Beginners DVD

All I knew about Tai Chi was that it looked easy. Not so. With the "Tai Chi for Beginners" DVD it made it a lot easier. Even though I am just in the Second week of using the DVD, my balance has improved. Great Dvd

I find this video easy to follow for the absolute beginner as well as the elderly person. I am close to 85 years old and a beginner. I am able to follow Dr Lam's instruction. Through his persistent teaching style I can easily follow his moves.

    Best Instruction Available for Beginners

Posted by Larry and Kathy Pratt on 5th Jan 2018

This product is by far the best thought out and most meticulously produced tai chi instructional video available. The step by step deconstruction of every movement is exceedingly helpful to a beginner. Lavish amounts of time are devoted to repetitions and explaining the spiritual and philosophical underpinnings of tai chi. This product would deserve five stars if a helpful illustration from lesson two, that being a graphic with the position of the feet, be used thought the lessons not just for Parting Wild Horse's Mane. Such a graphic would really help with transition movements such as White Crane and Strumming the Lute as well as with the footwork for Repulse Monkey. Even so, we strongly recommend this series of lessons for every beginner.

I was told to try Tai Chi for health reasons. I bought another DVD for another site and found that I had no idea how to do the moves. I found Tai Chi for beginners. I have been successful in learning the moves and I enjoy doing them. Dr. Lam is very good at showing and teaching the moves.
