Great for the beginner and as a refresher

Posted by Joanne Harmon on 5th Apr 2019

I have been doing Tai Chi for several years and was bored with the tapes I had. After watching several of Dr. Lam's lessons online I knew this was a fantastic way to learn the fundamentals. Dr. Lam's teaching style is great and the book is also very helpful, as well as informative.

All I knew about Tai Chi was that it looked easy. Not so. With the "Tai Chi for Beginners" DVD it made it a lot easier. Even though I am just in the Second week of using the DVD, my balance has improved. Great Dvd

I find this video easy to follow for the absolute beginner as well as the elderly person. I am close to 85 years old and a beginner. I am able to follow Dr Lam's instruction. Through his persistent teaching style I can easily follow his moves.

    Best Instruction Available for Beginners

Posted by Larry and Kathy Pratt on 5th Jan 2018

This product is by far the best thought out and most meticulously produced tai chi instructional video available. The step by step deconstruction of every movement is exceedingly helpful to a beginner. Lavish amounts of time are devoted to repetitions and explaining the spiritual and philosophical underpinnings of tai chi. This product would deserve five stars if a helpful illustration from lesson two, that being a graphic with the position of the feet, be used thought the lessons not just for Parting Wild Horse's Mane. Such a graphic would really help with transition movements such as White Crane and Strumming the Lute as well as with the footwork for Repulse Monkey. Even so, we strongly recommend this series of lessons for every beginner.

I was told to try Tai Chi for health reasons. I bought another DVD for another site and found that I had no idea how to do the moves. I found Tai Chi for beginners. I have been successful in learning the moves and I enjoy doing them. Dr. Lam is very good at showing and teaching the moves.

Now an important part of our day

Posted by Deborah Fuldauer on 9th Dec 2017

The lessons are very clear. The step-by-step method is excellent. I originally had downloaded free lesson 1 to cover a gap in an in-person group class during vacation and soon found this to be much better than the classes. I bought the DVD and my husband is now doing it with me. We progress slowly but surely. The good part is that when you "don't get it" you can repeat as often as you want and you don't have to worry about "keeping up" with others or being awkward. We are now enthusiastically practicing every evening with Dr. Lam and it has become an indispensable part of our daily routine.

Review of Dr. Lam's Tai Chi DVD

Posted by Bobby and Liz on 9th Nov 2017

My wife and I are in our 60's and were looking for something to strengthen our bodies, balance and overall well being. I studied Kung Fu San Soo almost 40 years ago related to the Jimmy Woo Assoc. in California. We used a form of Tai Chi in studying various moves for fighting multiple opponents. This has been a real treat for me to re-visit. My wife and I also enjoying Dr. Lams slow, precise easy to learn movements. Dr. Lams method of teaching different views of the movements as well as repetition of the moves makes this a much easier task in learning. We are currently viewing the beginners DVD, and I'm quite sure we will progress to further studies with Dr. Lam. Thank you Dr. Lam for this high quality teaching at a pace anyone can learn from!
