Tai Chi for Arthritis (TCA)-12 lessons with Dr Lam - recommended by CDC (Scroll down to see the free first lesson)

In 1996, Dr Lam with a team of medical and tai chi experts created this safe and easy to learn program. Medical studies confirm Tai Chi for Arthritis relieves pain, reduces falls and improves quality of life, that is why the Arthritis organisations around the world advocate this program and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (www.CDC.gov) recommends it for fall prevention.

What is special about this DVD is that you will feel as though you are participating in Dr Lam’s class. After a brief introduction of what Tai Chi for Arthritis is and how this DVD can benefit you, Dr Lam will teach you with step-by-step instructions, lead you to practice and explain the reason behind every move. At the conclusion of the DVD Dr Lam will demonstrate the set from both front and back views. The unique music was composed with the rhythm and energy especially for this program!

It presents the entire program including warm up and cool down in a user friendly format. Dr Lam incorporates the tai chi principles to enhance your understanding and enjoyment.

  1. Tai Chi made easy 5 Star Review

Posted by on 26th Jul 2021

I am taking a beginner class of Tai Chi for Arthritis through our local Rec Center. I wanted the DVD to be able to better practice on my own and it works great!
Dr Lam makes it easy to understand the forms and through repetition, even a beginner can pick it up!

  2. Great program, well-instructed 5 Star Review

Posted by on 17th May 2021

I've been practicing Tai-Chi in the Yang style for ~4 years now. I wanted to branch out and see what the other styles were like, and I saw someone demonstrate Sun style and immediately knew it was my next method of exploring Tai-Chi.

I do not have arthritis or have movement problems. I'm 31. From my perspective the Sun style has a few upgrades to its form that the Yang style does not - the focus on performing the movements on both sides of the body, and the integrated Chi-Gong breaths with the opening and closing hands are pretty awesome for cultivating a sensitivity to one's Chi and maintaining a truly balanced program. This would be an awesome introduction to Tai-Chi and energetic concepts in general, not only for those living with arthritis or other joint pain.

Dr. Lam is a chill guy that embodies the slow openness of Tai-Chi and makes it all very approachable. I will be including some of his wisdom in my own teaching methodology.

  3. Such a Joy! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 17th May 2021

I have tried another DVD for Arthritis and while it helped with flexibility, I was not convinced that it was teaching me in the best way. When I took a look at Dr. Lam's video and saw how he taught, I realized that this was a true teacher. After having a concussion, I suffered from dizziness and fatigue and both have virtually disappeared! Thank you for the gift you have given to countless people, Dr. Lam and may you continue for many years to come. Blessings.

  4. I LOVE THIS PROGRAM! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 18th Jan 2021

    Dr. Lam, thank you!
I absolutely love this program! It's like having my own personal instructor. Since I started the program my hip joints and knees do not ache all the time and I don't dread taking stairs in the morning anymore. I really love how Dr. Lam continually reminds, in a very gentle tone, that there is no rush in Tai Chi. Those words reminds me to slow down after a very quick paced day.

  5. Great DVD 5 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Sep 2020

I am very excited about learning Tai Chi for the first time with Dr. Lam's DVD. I have arthritis in both knees so I decided to try the arthritis lessons first. Once I have mastered them, I hope to move on tho the regular beginner lessons.
I am starting late in life, at 75, but I am really looking forward to doing this for the next 25 years!!!

  6. RE-Learning Balance 5 Star Review

Posted by on 7th Jun 2020

I bought these DVD's as I injured my knee at my former place of employment. I found out that not only did I sprain my knee, but that I had arthritis in my injured knee. I did about 3 weeks Physical Therapy, but had to stop as Workers Comp would only pay until I was released back to work. I found out about the program on YouTube and spoke to my PT about it. He recommended it, so I bought the DVD's.
I am regaining the balance I lost and love the low-impact!

  7. Currently using seated tai-chi dvd, hoping to graduate to standing 5 Star Review

Posted by on 26th May 2020

I bought the second dvd hoping to 'graduate' from seated tai chi to standing tai chi soon. With the discount it made more sense to buy them both at the same time.

  8. Tai dhi for Arthritis 3 Star Review

Posted by on 12th May 2020

I have been taking Tai Chi At our Senior
Center until covid 19 stopped that. I liked the DVD except that when you want to do all of the lessons you had to put a different disk in. I also hoped it would go further than it did.

  9. So helpful for to keep moving 4 Star Review

Posted by on 5th May 2020

I had been introduced to this program via our senior center exercise classes. His DVD is so much easier than trying to motivate myself to do the forms from printed materials.

The best part, is you can repeat the lessons and the routines as many times as you like until you get it right. And having him lead the routine facing the same way as the viewer, as well as having another view of the front of the class really helps me follow along.

    Great job!

  10. Invaluable Resource 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Jan 2020

I recently bought Dr Lam’s DVD’s and am sooo glad I did.
They are deceptively slow paced and that’s only part of why I deem them invaluable. (The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The slow pace gives the lesson time to sink into ) the student’s’ memory.

I also find them invaluable because Of the mental stimulation gained by listening to the thoughtful explanations, This has helped me to not only fine tune my physical movements, but to also gain mental awareness of why we do what we do.

I plan on getting certified to teach Tai Chi in a few months and am convinced that these DVD’s will be great reference tools for years to come. I learn something new each time I watch them.
