Series Description:
Tai Chi for Arthritis

In 1996, Dr Lam with a team of medical and tai chi experts created this safe and easy to learn program. Medical studies confirm Tai Chi for Arthritis relieves pain, reduces falls and improves quality of life, that is why the Arthritis organisations around the world support the program.

What is special about this edition is that you will feel as though you are participating in Dr Lam’s class. After a brief introduction of what Tai Chi for Arthritis is and how this DVD can benefit you, Dr Lam will teach you with step-by-step instructions, lead you to practice and explain the reason behind every move. At the conclusion of the DVD Dr Lam will demonstrate the set from both front and back views to the music composed exclusively for this DVD!

Combining a decade of teaching and research experience, Dr Lam revises the warm up exercises and presents new movement sequences in an innovative teaching format in these 12 real time lessons. Dr Lam also explains classical tai chi principles to enhance your understanding and enjoyment.

Dr Paul Lam, an Australian family physician and tai chi expert, is a world leader in the field of tai chi for health. He is a well recognised teacher, and the author of several books on tai chi and best-selling instructional tai chi DVDs. His tai chi programs have impacted millions worldwide.

  1. Feeling Great 5 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Jul 2017

I started this program because of Arthritis in my hips and back. The Arthritis in my back was gone while I was still doing the Exercises (which I did for 4 weeks before starting forms). I started forms about 6 weeks ago, and I like it very much, continuing to see improvement. the videos could be a little more friendly for small screens, I run mine from a Samsung tablet, and cast it to my TV, I loose the sound many times.

When I become proficient with this level I will move to the 24 forms and so on.

  2. Downloaded lesson very useful 5 Star Review

I have downloaded three of the lessons so far. I find the downloaded lessons very useful adjuncts to the class we are taking.

I have not used the DVD so I cannot compare the downloaded lessons with the lessons on the DVD. I would expect that the lessons are exactly the same on both formats.

Each lesson starts with the warm-ups and a review of the previous lessons. At times, this may not be what the viewer wants. If the viewer wants just to work on the new material, having to fast-forward through the warm-up and review may be a bother. (Users with moderate technical skill can edit the video so that it is just the way they want it, something which would be more easily done with the downloaded lessons than with the DVD.)
